The Course.
· The Location.
Located just eight miles south west of Dublin City Centre, Dublin City Golf Club is set in the beautiful valley of Glen Na Smól (The valley of the thrush) overlooking the lakes and the river Dodder. This is a national heritage area and offers some of the most beautiful scenery in Ireland, a haven of peace and tranquillity. The course takes full advantage of this location and the views change at every turn.
Wildlife is abundant and it is not uncommon to share the fairways with the local deer who ramble freely throughout the area.
The Course was originally designed by the late Eddie Hackett, well known Irish golf architect, responsible for designing more golf courses in Ireland than any other, with redesign work by Frank Clarke, a well known and accomplished golfer and artist.
The course would be described as parkland and the layout has been dictated by the terrain. The designers have taken full advantage of the varied terrain and produced great variety of golf holes with very few parallel holes. Players never get bored with a new challenge around every corner.
